Turning Point

Hmmmm wonder whats the turning point?? All of you will soon come to know of it.....so i wud rather keep mum right now...The new year has been happening for me...I found an avatar of mine which was hidden for the past 20 odd years....I sincerely hope that the people who matter most like my avatar..Its been a great day for India at the Oscars. Everyone is hailing the 'Mozart of Madras' - AR, but we should give the same credit to Resul Pookutty. I think the director of Slumdog Millionaire has painted a very bad picture of India to the western world. Already many people had seen the movie , now coz of the Oscar mania the remaining will also see it.
Having been in Europe for some time, The Europeans think India is a poor country and all it has is poor farmers, poverty and age old mind boggling practices. Nobody is aware of the Indian revolution in almost every field that you can think of. The resurgent Indian upper middle class is the real advantage which India possess over the western countries . The economic depression may affect the rich nations, but India is facing it bravely and are definitely in a better position compared to the other countries. The foreign film directors just want to portray the negatives of a developing India. Why cant they show the Positives and Good things of India and its culture??
There are many poor people in the European Countries as well . Why dont they make a picture out of it?? There are so many people who queque up to get their umemployment insurance in the western world. Are they better than the people who live in the slums of India?? The people who live in the slums earn their living. If Slumdog was an Indian movie meant for Indian audiences, the movie was acceptable. But for an international audience, the authorities concerned should ensure that a good picture of India is shown to the world. Danny Boyle should be asked by the Indian government to make a picture which conveys the meaning - India Shining.
Whatever it is...I am going to Vasteras tomorrow to get my visa extension stamped and i already feel like a Millionaire. He he he..........

Really, even i thought so! why just show the bad part of the conutry, why cant concentrate on other good issues which will depict the better side of the nation. This will certainly create a ugly picture on India among Westners. To add to all this is Oscar for the film.. I was really thinking if people have become crazy and reacting overly in this case...

The Biristh always want to show the asian countries as poor and treat them below par and now they are boasting this as a Crown to British film industry.. Y cant them make a good(or bad) film of their country and win an award..?

Varun, even I m of the same opinion.
Its just that the filmmaker just wanted to make use of a very large vibrant Indian community which he cannot exploit had he taken a film related to another so called thrd world countyr.
FYI I have also written abt the same topic :)
